South County San Diego also known as the South Bay is San Diego’s southern-most community that lies adjacent to the Mexico border. The South Bay consists of the communities and cities of Chula Vista, Bonita, Imperial Beach, Lincoln Acres, National City, East Lake, Coronado and Otay Mesa. In the South County you may find yourself rocking out to a concert at Coors Amphitheatre, shopping at the Las Americas Premium Outlet Center, soaking up the sun at the Chula Vista Soak City or enjoying the authentic Mexican cuisine at one of their many local restaurants. You may also find yourself at the Chula Vista Nature Center enjoying the turtle lagoon, the shark and ray exhibit, the native gardens and watching the birds. The South Bay Expressway has greatly improved residents’ commute to the rest of San Diego County. The Sweetwater Union High School District, National School District, San Ysidro School District, the South Bay Union School District, charter and private schools all serve the South Bay. The County has fourteen high schools, fourteen middle schools, thirteen elementary schools and many private schools, which offers the residents a variety of campus and education options.
