Serving as the county seat of Beaufort County, South Carolina, Beaufort is home to over 12,000 residents. Founded in 1711, Beaufort is the 2nd oldest city in South Carolina. Beaufort is popular for it's scenic location on Port Royal Island and for it's historic architecture.
